The Great Sandy Desert is located North West of Western Australia, south of the Kimberley Plateau. The Gibson Desert and Little Sandy Desert lie to the south, the Hamersley Range lies to the west and the Tanami Desert and MacDonnel Ranges lie to the east of the Great Sandy Desert.
